In the third movie of the ‘Fallen’ series 'Angel Has Fallen', Mike Banning (Butler) continues to be the most trusted Secret Service agent of President Allan Trumball (Freeman). While accompanying him on a fishing excursion, a vehicle pulls up in the nearby woods and launches what appears to be a flock of black birds. But they are bomber drones with facial-recognition technology aimed at assassinating the President.

Banning manages to save the President, though both are knocked unconscious and 18 Secret Service agents are killed. This drives the President into a coma and Mike is arrested under suspicion of being the assailant behind the attack. Expectedly, Mike escapes custody, goes on to prove his innocence.
